30...was not so bad as people say it should be.  But I suppose that's a matter of perspective really and rarely do I get accused of being "old."  There've been many good things that have happened this year: moving home, getting to spend more time with my family and back in the bakery, the new job, coaching archery...and reuniting with Obito and Kakashi.  Best. Thing. Ever.

I'm hoping that 31 will continue on in an upward path.  It'll be here in a matter of hours...

for Obito ^.^
I guess I hadn't really noticed just how long it's been since I'd last posted.  Oops.  ^.^

Things have been a little hectic, as I'm sure you all know, with the start of the new school year.  I came here right at the end of the last term so it's a completely different atmosphere around the offices right now than I'd gotten used to.  I've been dealing with a lot of incoming freshmen and their scheduling/first time away from home/roommate issues.  Oi.

On top of all of that, I too have...a few new roommates, though I'm thinking I've lucked out better than most of these freshman.  I knew that Anko and I got along before I offered her my spare room.  As for the snakes...well, lets just say that they're rather friendly sorts.  Goma especially.  We play this game now.  I try and snake-proof my room at night...and he tries to prove that my efforts are futile.  I suppose I should just be glad that he seems to like me.  I'd hate to know what it'd be like if he didn't.  At least I seem to be providing Anko with entertainment.

There's an exhibition match for the local archery clubs coming up soon.  Apparently they even want the instructors to participate in their own set.  Should be fun.  Of course, it's not for actual competition, hence "exhibition" but it should still make for an enjoyable day.  And I'm really looking forward to testing myself against some of the other sensei~  ♥

As for our own club, I know you all have enjoyed the laid-back non-mandatory sessions lately, but we'll be starting to ramp back up into a regular routine again within the next two weeks.

Things around campus have been pretty quiet the past week or so with everyone taking advantage of their summers and finding someplace outside of the city to have fun and relax.  As for me...I'm still here.  Dealing with incoming students and their worries over schedules and whether what they'd been studying the past three years was really what they wanted to continue doing and such.  I really don't miss being on the other side of all of that.

I really do need to go do something fun though.  I'm open to suggestions and potential accomplices friends to join me.  Even if it's just for one day and not a full weekend.  Anyone?

"You will marry Obito.

After a wild honeymoon, you will settle down in Tokyo in your fabulous House.

You will have 7 kid(s) together.

The family will zoom around in a silver Vespa.

You will spend your days as a Ninja, and live happily ever after."

Ahhahaha!!  I get to be a ninja!  That's awesome!! (what do you mean that isn't ever girl's lifelong dream? pssht...)  And Obito-kun, that's a lot of kids...and I'm not exactly getting any younger...

XD

I haven't been terribly social lately outside of work and archery because I've been helping out at the bakery.  Both of Shou-nii's kids have caught summer colds so they've been trying to keep from spreading the bug to the rest of the family, much less keeping it away from the kitchens.  Anyone feel like dropping by, I've got fresh baked brownies waiting. ;)

I know it's only June, but can summer be over with? My ac is on the blink and the superintendent can't get the parts to fix it until tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll head go take a walk, head to the kyudojo or a cafe or something. The breeze outside sounds much better than a stuffy apartment any day.

In the meantime, I bring you a couple of quizzes, because Tenten did them, and I couldn't resist.

Hmmm... )

Please, oh please, let this week be just as awesome as the last!

No major crisis going on (that I'm aware of at any rate), archery, tai chi and...Obito-kun!  I didn't think it was possible, never expected to see him here, much less have him find me in a park during lunch one day.  I *knew* there were reasons why I felt that it was suddenly time to come back home.  I know we were both technically adults the last time we were together, but I can't help but feel he's done a lot of growing up since college.  Luckily, adult or not, he's still very much the Obito-kun I know and love.

And if that weren't insane enough, Kakashi-kun is here too, at this very university!  I haven't actually seen him yet, he's just as elusive as ever.  But Kakashi, I swear, if you don't come by my office or the bakery to say hi, I WILL resort to drastic measures!  Don't think I won't!!

Kiba-kun, are you going to join us at practice tomorrow?  No pressure, just wondered if you wanted to head to the kyudojo with Tenten and myself or meet us there.  And has anyone seen this Shikamaru-kun who's signed up?  It'd be nice to have more members from the school.

Oh!  And I'll have brownies in my office on Tuesday, should anyone feel like dropping in. ^.^

up and away
Second week is already off to a smoother start than the last. There's still plenty that I need to catch up on and I've still barely met a fraction of the faculty, but I'm getting there. I've only had a few students try and test my patience, which is always entertaining to see them just get more frustrated when I keep smiling.

Muah ha ha...killing with kindness! It's like how it was always fun to torture classmates by being a morning person and WIDE awake when we'd have early morning practice or be leaving for a trip or something. I blame the bakery and growing up to early morning sugar-highs.

Anyway...

I got to meet my new archery student this weekend. I'd talked to Tenten briefly online last week and decided to pop into the cafe where she works. I can't wait for practice tomorrow for more than just the fact that I miss the feel of the bow in my hands.

Now, if I could just get this stupid email composed...well...I'd still be worrying about it, but at least it'd be done with and no longer in my control. >_<

So, I've been told that a lot of the staff and students do this online blogging thing...and being a fan of journaling in general (hey, it's a psych thing), I'm game for giving it a shot.

If any of the students at this school think that once they're done here that they are finished learning new things, they're seriously mistaken.  I have SO MUCH to read through this week between school policies, course/program descriptions and trying to put names to faces out of the faculty directory...not to mention that I'm scheduled to join the Archery Club for the first time next week.  I'd hoped to jump right in, but honestly, if I don't get my apartment unpacked, I'll run out of clean, pressed clothes oh...tomorrow.

I think school was more relaxing as a student.  And I'm sure that I'll be fine after I get past the first week or so and can settle into a routine.  Until then, if you see me tugging on my hair...don't worry.  I can professionally vouch for my own mental stabilty.  ;)

I must say that it is nice to be back home though.  Mom filled my fridge with food last night.  I had to practically shove her out of the apartment to keep her from alphabetizing my bookshelves (the only thing I've completely unpacked).  Once she gets started, she'll never stop...and she's still at the bakery  every morning well before dawn.  Geez, I've missed them all!

Shou-nii's kids are ridiculously adorable as well.  They look like we did when we were little...so cute!  I think I'm watching them Saturday night, so Shou-nii and Etsuko-chan can go out on a "no-kids-allowed" outing.  Auntie Rin is going to spoil her niece and nephew mercilessly (and then return them to their parents, ha!).

I'd better go get at least a few more boxes unpacked before I go to bed.
